Pacific City Dory Salmon & Rockfish Trips with Connect Outfitters
We have over 30 years of experience operating and fishing out of Pacific City from dories. We specialize in saltwater fly fishing for a large variety of species including salmon, rockfish and tuna.
Your ocean adventure begins by launching through the surf, where timing is everything and adrenaline runs high as we accelerate over the waves and head out for an adventure filled day. The start to the day is definitely exciting but it’s just the beginning as we enter the offshore world, where you never know what we’ll see. Depending on the day we may be chasing rockfish with clousers or top water flies with 6 to 8 weight rods, Ling cod with fast sinking lines and flies on 9 and 10 weight rods, or bucktailing and casting to coho (silver) salmon that are known for aggressive takes and want nothing more than to destroy your fly and test your drag. When the conditions are right we have the opportunity to go further offshore where albacore tuna are the quarry. You will quickly learn why tuna are the ultimate experience on a fly rod as they make stout 12 weight rods feel like you just brought a knife to a gun fight.
All trips include water, coffee, light breakfast and lunch in addition to fishing gear and flies if needed. Guest will need, fishing license, warm clothes and any personal items you may want to eat or drink. $100 deposit is required at time of booking.

The North Coast Rivers of Oregon
Few places on this earth offer the beauty and tranquility that the Oregon Coast offers. Add some of the best Winter Steelheading in the United States, and you have something only dreamed about for most fly fisherman. Our North Coast trips encapsulate a few different river systems. Since the weather patterns change so much in our winter seasons, we have a few different options to work with, depending on conditions. Sometimes we get rained out, sometimes we get iced out, and sometime a tree comes down blocking passage, so we have to be flexible.
We fish the Coast systems from December through Mid April for Winter Steelhead.
These rivers are primarily wild steelhead rivers, so we treat them as gently as we can.
Wild Steelhead are very special to us, and so are the rivers they live in.
We fish barbless hooks on these rivers and all wild fish will be released unharmed.
