The Kalama River
The Kalama is just 45 minutes north of Portland In Washington State. This little has legendary roots and has been fished by some true pioneers of the sport. It comes off Mount St. Helens and travels 45 miles before entering the Columbia near the town of Kalama. What it lacks in size, it more than makes up in numbers. Spring and Fall Chinook, Fall Coho and year around steelhead runs, the Kalama has become a favorite of many anglers living in the Portland metro area and out of town visitors. The little river that could, as we call it, has tons of variety, no matter what time of year you hit it.
